Finca Villa Betulia [Competition]
Grown by Luis Anabel Calderon at Finca Villa Betulia, originates from a unique varietal planted in 2017. Luis discovered a distinct Bourbon tree and decided to cultivate more of this unique strain, naming it Bourbon Primitivo to distinguish it from the regular Bourbon variety.
The beans undergo anaerobic natural fermentation, placed in hermetically sealed tanks or grainpro bags to exclude oxygen. Over a 40-hour period, the beans’ natural enzymes break down sugars, creating unique aromatic and flavor compounds. This meticulous process results in a coffee with notes of Dr. Pepper, papaya, and hot chocolate!
